Banana Cream Bars

 

This dessert is simply perfect for something for light after dinner. This dessert is an easier way to serve than banana pudding. Simply chill and cut into bars, then serve.

Prep Time: 25 minutes  Chill Time: 3 hours  Servings: 8

 

20 Vanilla Creme cookies or 20 Golden Oreos (crust)

4 oz. Cream cheese, softened

2 Bananas ( 1 sliced, 1 mashed)

4 tblsp. butter, melted

4 tblsp. powdered sugar

8 oz. cool whip

1 1/2 cups milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 (4 oz.) box instant banana pudding

A few extra cookies for topping, crushed or broken up

 

Crust:

Blend or with a rolling pin crush 20 cookies. Melt butter and mix into the crushed cookies. Press into an 8×8 baking dish to create a crust. place in freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Filling:

In a bowl, combine the instant pudding with the milk. Set aside.

With an electric mixer, combine 1 mashed banana and cream cheese and mix until creamy. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Gently fold in 1 cup of cool whip.

Remove the crust from the freezer, create a single layer with sliced bananas. pour the cream cheese mixture over layer of bananas and spread evenly. Next, pour the pudding mixture over cream cheese mixture and spread evenly. Top with layer of cool whip spread evenly. Let chill for 3 hours. Top it off with a few broken or crushed cookies. Enjoy!
