Simple Tomato Gravy

This simple tomato gravy is a southern dish served over biscuits for breakfast or brunch.

 

Ingredients:

3 Tblsp. pan drippings from bacon or sausage

3 Tblsp. all-purpose flour

1 1/3 cups chicken broth

1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained

1/3 tsp. salt

1/3 tsp. black pepper

 

 

 

Directions:

Heat tomatoes in skillet where you cooked your sausage or bacon over medium heat, scraping bottom of pan. Stir flour into broth, whisk until there is no lumps. Pour flour/broth mixture in tomatoes and whisk. Bring to a boil until thickened. Add salt and pepper. Reduce heat to a simmer for a least 5 to 10 minutes. Enjoy!
